HazMat Incident Commander (IC)  NFPA 472, 29 CFR 1910.120

Target Audience: Employees who will respond to emergencies involving Hazardous Materials (HazMat) as an Incident Commander and who will be responsible for all incident activities, including the development of strategies and tactics and the ordering and release of resources.

Hazardous materials incidents are uniquely challenging and require educated decisive decision making. An individual, who respond to these types of emergencies and makes those decisions, is an Incident Commander. They will be responsible for all incident activities, including the development of strategies and tactics and the ordering and release of resources. This course provides the tools a person needs to assume control of an emergency response to a HazMat incident.

  • Hazard assessment

  • HazMat site safety

  • Operational risk management

  • Protective actions

  • Incident termination

  • T able top exercises
