Target Audience: Employees who work in and around confined spaces and have previously completed the Confined Space Operations course.
Confined Space Operations (Refresher) is an intensive, 8-hour, class that provides case studies with
hands-on training and a practical exercise, allowing the students to refresh on previous knowledge and gain confidence in this dangerous environment.
This Confined Space Operations (Refresher) course is designed to aid the student in better understanding the dynamic environment of confined space operations. This course studies applicable regulations, typical confined space hazards, control measures and proper equipment selection, inspection, and use. This class includes both classroom and a practical exercise, entering an actual confined space.
This 1-day course is comprised of the following:
Definitions and dangers of confined spaces
Introduction of applicable regulatory standards
Identification of confined spaces and the atmospheric dangers and risks
Requirements for permit-required confined spaces
Use of job safety controls for entry into potentially unsafe spaces
o Respiratory
o Gas monitoring o Ventilation
o SCBA
o PPE
Post entry procedures
Rescue planning and non-entry rescue techniques
Hands-on confined space exercise
